Located on Thawra St., just in front of the Embassy of the UAE, Jeita – the famed Lebanese restaurant – has managed to gain an immense popularity with the local public.
One of the best things about this place is the fact that it caters to both: those looking for a relaxing and secluding atmosphere, away from the noisy streets of Cairo; and those who prefer to sit in the open air verandah enjoying fresh shisha and watching TV. The inside area is quite big, boasting huge wooden tables suitable for big groups of people and smaller dining tables specially designed for couples. The verandah is noisy (as the restaurant is overlooking the ever-busy highway), but, luckily, (or unluckily) the big TV screens distract you from the noise.
The décor is authentic but does not entirely give you the feel of Lebanon; the food is fairly good with Cream Mushroom Soup, Cheese Sambosak and Shish Tawook getting the highest scores. They also have an abundance of cocktails, fresh juices and some desserts along with a wide variety of shisha flavors served both in and outdoors.
The service is efficient (dishes are served within 10-15 minutes) especially if you are a regular client.
Overall, the place is worthy suitable for both: couples and big groups.
