  The national museum in Alexandria

It is located at al-horeya street. The palace was a residence of businessman and gathering for many of high level people.

 

The museum opened to public in 2002 and has more displays of different eras like: pharonic and ptolemic.
In the museum the first floor contains pharonic items has a lot of statues and interesting portraits of Hatshepsut and menkaure.
There are also tombs discovered in the valley of the kings and this tombs included canopic jars.
the middle floor contains the antiques of greeco-roman period like: god serapis , granite statue of cracala.
The last floor has a collection of items Islamic and Coptic civilization together.
The importance items of the national museum is the famous ancient Egyptian writer found around the pyramid of djoser in saqaraa.
There are icons of Coptic shows the religious scenes of Christ and last supper.
There are also some important displays antiquites that were found under the sea in Alexandria. There are also found statues found  made out of black bronze such as  statue of isis,and also statue of head of great Alexander.
Hours of operation : open daily from 9:00AM -5:00PM .
